Having a short-term sacrifice will seem much more reasonable when we know that there is a reward (a gain) for us at the end of it.

This is a great self-control technique, as it will help to keep you motivated and will give you an incentive to achieve your goals and to stay focused on them.

This will also help you to be patient, as you will know that if you carry on there will be a reward at the end, and you will be less likely to lose your self-control.

5. Self Affirmations

Self-affirmations are positive sentences that you can repeat to yourself, this is a great self-control technique, one that is also spoken about when using the Law Of Attraction.

When you repeat positive affirmations, such as things you are thankful for, things you have achieved or want to achieve, your core beliefs etc, it keeps you in a more positive mindset. This, in turn, will keep you motivated as you can reflect on what you have already achieved or things that you are thankful for.
