If you’re stressed, you’re not alone! Everything from a demanding job to unfulfilled dreams and interpersonal entanglements can leave you tense, worried, and just plain exhausted. While using the Law of Attraction is one of the best ways to create a life that doesn’t involve so much stress, you also need to work on reducing your stress levels if you want to be able to manifest effectively in the first place.
Here are seven quick and powerful ways to let go of stress and feel calmer as soon as possible.
There is a range of approaches to creating a healthy space for yourself. For example, you might actually designate a small “stress-free zone” in your home, where you can go to relax and where you vow you will never do work or engage in practical problem-solving!
If you live with other people, let them know that you’re not to be disturbed when you’re in this place. It could also double as a meditation space where you can create visualizations and practice affirmations.
Another way of making space is just to get away for a while; plan a short trip (or a vacation) away from all of life’s baggage, and just revel in the clarity that a change of scenery can bring.
Ideally, your self-worth should come from within, and it should be stable; in other ways, your core self-evaluations should be positive, and the associated beliefs strong enough to stand in the face of negativity from others.
Everything becomes much simpler and far less arduous if you stop caring about being judged!
One thing you can do to care less about the opinions of others is to remember that most of what they think is a reflection of themselves; the things they criticize about you are often projections of things they dislike about their own personalities, and in other cases, a negative judgment is motivated by jealousy.
Most news outlets flood us with reasons to think that the world is doomed and people are terrible, but if you focus on this alone then you’ll miss all the reasons to believe in hope and goodness. Taking a more balanced perspective is key to letting go of stress and worry.
Try to do something every day that turns your mind to the joy and good around you.
Whether it’s challenging yourself to find (and share) three uplifting news stories per day or volunteering somewhere where you can see like minded people making a difference for those less fortunate, you’re sure to feel better about the world and your place in it.
There’s no denying that it can be hard to truly forgive, especially if someone has profoundly hurt you in a way that has left a major emotional scar.
However, carrying grudges can poison you from the inside, lowering your vibration and focusing your energy on negative feelings of anger and resentment.
Ask yourself what it would take for you to forgive; sometimes, you need time to air your feelings (e.g. through journaling or therapy), or perhaps you will benefit from considering how much you’ve learned from these tough experiences.
Meanwhile, remember to forgive yourself with all your heart too; you’ll live a far less stressful life if you let go of feelings of shame. It’s okay to make mistakes, and it doesn’t mean you’re not a valuable and wonderful person.
As well as your usual mindfulness activities associated with the Law of Attraction, try incorporating stress-busting techniques.
For example, one exercise involves imagining stress and anxiety flooding out of your body (in whatever way you choose; common examples include black clouds or green smoke).
Another alternative focuses on drawing positive, calming energy towards you (by, for example, imagining yourself surrounded by a golden glow or attracting warm, shimmering energy into your core).
Construe this tip as broadly as you like; perhaps your home is cluttered with things you no longer want to use, maybe you’re taking on too many commitments and buckling under the stress, or possibly your social circle includes some toxic people and could use some pruning.
The main message here is to reduce stress by simplifying. Decide what you really care about, need and value, and base your days solely on these major things.
Finally, your stress levels can drop substantially if you’re able to let go of the idea that you can control everything. When you do find yourself upset about something you can’t change, think about how you can reframe the issue; for example, instead of seeing a sudden rainstorm as something that has ruined your plan to go out walking, consider how you can make the best of a cozy day inside.
Plus, remember that there is a reason why the universe sends challenges your way; they are ultimately what you need in order to change and grow.
Shift the majority of your focus to the things you can change, and throw all your energy behind making those changes. This will leave you empowered and excited, instead of frazzled and powerless.
