5 Powerful Time Management Tips For People With No Time

productive-5-powerful-time-management-tips-people-no-time

One of the most common problems that affect most people is the lack of time. No matter how hard you try to fit as many tasks as possible to your schedule, it seems that 24 hours aren’t enough to do everything you need to do.

There are always things to be done and projects to complete. And as the day progresses, new tasks and responsibilities just keep rolling in.

If you often find yourself not having enough time to get everything done, do not worry. There are ways to maximize your time so you can complete as many tasks as you can in one day.

1. Eat That Frog!

One of the best things you can do every day is get up every morning and eat your biggest, ugliest frog first.

This doesn’t mean to actually eat a frog…

Your “frog” is simply the biggest, most important task for the day. It is the one you are most likely to procrastinate on. At the same time, it is the one task that can have the biggest positive impact on your life at the moment.

To reach high levels of performance and productivity, you must develop the lifelong habit of dealing with the most important task of the day first thing in the morning and resist the temptation of tackling the easiest task first.

With the most difficult task out of the way, you’ll be more motivated to plow through each succeeding task no matter how big or small it may be.

2. Keep a Written List

Make and keep a to-do list of your goals for that day on a paper. Keeping a written list prevents you from forgetting the important things you need to do. The act of physically writing your tasks on paper will register them into your subconscious and will help you complete them with ease.

At the same time, it helps you keep an orderly state of mind, giving you more room for creativity.

It’s ok to keep your task list on your phone, or in a project management system, but I suggest writing out what you want to complete during your day on paper.

Perhaps the most important benefit of keeping a written list is that it helps stimulate more progress. It provides you with a simple way to organize yourself and get things done.

Before you go to bed, make sure that you already have a plan of the things you need to do and the goals you want to achieve for the next day.

Your ability to make good plans before you act is a testament to your overall competence. The better plan you have, the easier it is for you to get started and keep going.

Also, it leaves no room for procrastination.

By planning each day in advance, you’ll be able to think about the things you need to. This helps you to mentally prepare yourself for the tasks ahead even before you wake up the next morning. As a result, you’ll be able to work faster and smoother than ever before.

4. Get More Sleep

Sleep and productivity are connected.

It’s vital that you get the right amount of sleep every night. Otherwise, not only will your health suffer, but the quality and quantity of your work, as well.

Getting more sleep allows you to recover from distractions faster. Your response time is better and you’re less likely to make mistakes throughout the day. Having sufficient amount of sleep also contributes to improved memory and better cognitive function.

Perhaps the most important reason to get more sleep is that it helps prevent burnout. It allows you to get more things done and raises your odds of having a long and fruitful career.

5. Use Positive Affirmations

Staying positive can always change your life for the better and you can harness the power of positive affirmations to boost your productivity.

Positive affirmations are commands that you pass from your conscious mind to your subconscious mind. You either say them out loud or just to yourself but with the emotion and enthusiasm that transform the words into “operating instructions” designed to guide your inner self.

The more you say and repeat affirmations to yourself, the more your subconscious mind will accept them. Over time, you’ll notice that your external behaviors will start reflecting your internal programming, allowing you to accomplish more for less amount of time.
