There are certain people who just seem to be successful in every part of their lives; they are in fantastically loving relationships, they never have to worry about money, and they’re always planning some amazing new journey or experience that allows them to live a life of constant adventure.

You might look at these people and wonder what on earth they have that you don’t. Perhaps you’ve felt jealous and despondent, or maybe you’ve even resigned yourself to the idea that you’ll never have that type of life.

However, I implore you not to give up! I used to be in just that position, and now I wake up every morning feeling excited and delighted to be alive.

The most basic idea at the heart of the Law of Attraction is that like attracts like. So, whether you’re aware of it or never even think about it, you’re actually responsible for all the influences you bring into your life—both positive and negative. If you’re feeling bad thinking that you attract negativity, it’s important to realize that much of this goes on at a subconscious level, and may be related to very early life experiences that have shaped your expectations.

The good news is that these expectations can be “rewired” and transformed so that you believe you’ll have positive experiences (then get these positive experiences in return!).

You’ll start transforming your life and moving towards phenomenal new accomplishments once you can really see that what you choose to focus on has a very clear and measurable impact on what happens to you. Ever noticed how people who constantly complain about every little thing and wallow in self-pity about the past just tend to attract more and more negativity?

4. Be grateful for what you have. Think about this, you probably have something that others can only dream of, so be thankful for that.

5. Be more open to new things: seek new experiences, new opportunities, do not reject new ideas or people who are different. Of course, it’s one thing to understand the core message of the Law of Attraction (like attracts like), and quite another to know how you can change your daily life to attract (or manifest, as it tends to be called) the things you want.

The great news is that there are hundreds of straightforward techniques that help you make the Law of Attraction work for you. When there is a step-by-step process (and backed with the latest science), learning the techniques becomes easy.

And, as a result, you end up feeling positive, expecting the things you want to come to pass, and constantly moving towards your goals. You can have love, financial abundance, a satisfying career and a life of adventure—you just have to want it and truly believe it is possible.

Some Basic Tools And Techniques

Here, for free, are outlines of some of the major exercises that are commonly used to start harnessing some of the power of the Law of Attraction:

This is the process by which you gradually build up a vivid image of the reality you want. As you would to take part in mindfulness meditation, find a relaxing and quiet place where you won’t be disturbed, and just focus on your breathing for 3-5 minutes (letting passing thoughts drift by without judgment).

Then, imagine yourself in the situation you aim for. So, if you want to be one of “those people” who seems to have it all, perhaps you’d see yourself with an amazing lover, on vacation, free to spend as you wish.

However, it’s important to distinguish a visualization from a daydream—to make the Law of Attraction work for you, it’s much more effective to imagine a short but incredibly intense snapshot of your ideal life than it is to construct a lengthy narrative.

Stay in this visualization for 5-10 minutes, then open your eyes and carry those positive feelings with you. Repeat this on a daily basis—possibly either before starting your day or just before going to bed at night.

  • Affirmations

Sometimes called mantras, affirmations are short, powerful phrases that connect you with what you want for your future. Crucially, proponents of the Law of Attraction generally believe these morning affirmations should be said in the present tense so that you’re talking about the dream life that’s already yours—not some goal in the far-off future.


So, you might say “I am vibrant, attractive, and loved” if you’re looking for romance, or “Everyone sees how talented, creative and valuable I am” if you’re trying to ascend the career ladder at work. Many people find it most useful to say these affirmations directly into the mirror while making eye contact with their reflection.

Having a dream board allows you to constantly see a physical representation of the things you want to manifest. So, if you’re looking for love and prosperity, you’d use your dream board to display images that connect you with feelings of abundance and romance.

You can be as creative as you like here—some people like to draw their own images and write a few key phrases to pin on their dream board, while others primarily use pictures cut from magazines.

In addition, the images can be as literal or metaphorical as you like (e.g. romance can be represented by a happy couple, but it can also be represented by, say, a beautiful sun in the sky if that image evokes the feelings you associate with being loved).

You’ll know the right images when you see them, and you’ll find you instinctively know how to place them. Put your dream board somewhere where it will catch your eye multiple times a day, such as next to your workspace, by your bed, on the fridge, or near the front door.

So, as you can see, there are practical and concrete ways to start becoming one of those successful people who have it all!

However, I emphasize that the above is just the very basic information you’ll need to know—to harness its full power, you’ll need to build on these simple exercises and continue to deepen your understanding of the psychology and science behind the Law of Attraction.
