Do you have a dream? But until now, fear has prevented you from going for that dream? Most people know where it is that they want to go, but are too afraid to take the steps they need to get there.
Fear has become the biggest dominating force behind all of their decision-making. This is because, as humans, we often let our fears take over and stop us from achieving what we want to achieve. But if you can learn to follow your fears and think about them in a different way; you can start to achieve the goals in life that you have previously been too scared to try and reach.
You don’t have to feel overwhelmed or afraid. You just need to use what you have now, focus only on what is in front of you and start now.
You don’t have to have a degree, be working with the best team or have the perfect website in order to start your business.
You don’t have to have the perfect body or ideal finances to start a romantic relationship.
You don’t need to lose 10lbs before you sign up for that dance class or have a personal trainer in order to exercise.
You don’t have to worry about what others will think of you or what is expected of you.
You don’t have to wait for someone to help you.
What you do have to do is give yourself permission to help yourself and to just start now.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have it all figured out yet. Even if you did, life is unpredictable and will always be full of unforeseen circumstances and unexpected curveballs. You've just got to learn to roll with the punches.
This is why all of this waiting and putting off what you want most, in preparation for the ‘perfect’ moment, is a waste of time. There is no ‘perfect’ moment, and it is quite possible that there never will be.
The only time there ever will be is right now.
Seriously, what is it? And be realistic! The reality of asking ‘what’s the worst that could happen?’ is often far less scary than what our imaginations are capable of thinking up.
It can be tempting to sweep your fears under the carpet; however, putting them to the back of your mind whilst you get stuck into your goals is not a long-term solution. Learn to listen to your feelings. Understand where your fears stem from and you’ll be able to exercise them for good.
Keep a supportive group of friends and family around you during times of change.
It is important to have your biggest cheerleaders by your side; they might help to give you the encouragement you need to overcome your fears and get started on your dreams.
You could spend a lifetime sitting around, planning and preparing for your dreams.
You could probably even think of 100 or more different reasons why you shouldn’t even go for them in the first place. But all you need is that one reason why you SHOULD.
Once you have that, that’s all the reason you need to stop overthinking things and to start taking the steps, no matter how small, in the direction of where you want to be.
Overcoming your fears to begin living your dream life is one of the scariest, but without a doubt, the most rewarding thing that you can do.
Inaction is one of the biggest killers of dreams; so regardless of whether or not the time is right, make things happen! Act now – and you definitely won’t regret it later.
Once you can learn how to face your fears, you can then start to live out your dreams and reach your goals.
You will be faced with different fears throughout your life, whether it is a fear of being judged, or rejected, or even just a fear that you might fail – you may have to face these from time to time.
