Do you ever find yourself feeling upset easily? Perhaps you take things to heart and you are usually very aware of others feelings? This could mean that you are a highly sensitive person, which is not necessarily a bad thing at all.

Not everyone is a highly sensitive person and sometimes it can be hard to relate to others who feel the same way that you may do. Being highly sensitive can just mean that you feel things a lot more than others, and are also aware of how others feel too. 1. You Find It Very Difficult To Say No To People

If you are a highly sensitive person, you may find it extremely hard to say no to people, as you want to please others. You might say yes to others requests, even if you already have your own plans.

For example, someone may ask if you can pick them up one day, and despite you have plans at that time, you say yes and put your own plans aside.

Highly sensitive people are likely to do this as they do not want to face judgment or upset anyone, they may be trying to avoid any confrontation and are aware that the other person will be happy if they can help them out.

2. You Feel Everything

Some people feel their emotions a lot more than others, and even a little thing can set off a wave of emotion. If you are highly sensitive, you may find that you have a lot of feelings and sometimes just cannot control them.

This could be triggered when you are reading a certain book, watching a scene in a movie, reacting to something a friend has said to you or even a song that connects with you. Any of these things may make you feel very emotional and you can sometimes feel overwhelmed with dealing with all of your feelings.

Feeling moved and emotional is not always a bad thing as it shows that you are sensitive to others and can empathize with other people.

3. You Can Always Tell When There Is Something Wrong

Usually, if you are highly sensitive, you can be highly intuitive. You are more likely to be the type of person who just knows when something is wrong with another person or friend. If a friend tells you they are fine, when they really aren't, you would be someone who notices straight away.

When you are highly sensitive, you feel a lot of emotions and can normally empathize with others and understand when someone is feeling a certain emotion. According to research, 20% of the population can react strongly to someone else’s emotional circumstances.

4. You Are Always Polite

If you are a very sensitive person, you will understand how others can react to things.

You are likely to always be polite and know you need to show manners and always say the right things. This may be because you do not want to offend anyone.

Everyone wants to be polite, but if you are highly sensitive you may become more aware when others do not show manners and know that it may upset people.

Therefore, you want to be polite to others so that no one is upset and you do not offend anyone.

According to experts, highly sensitive people often have great manners and notice others who do not.

5. You Often React To Things More Than Most People

With certain situations, you may find that you react a lot more than others when it comes to your emotions. This does not mean that you are being ‘over the top’ or dramatic, it could just be that you feel things a lot stronger than others do.

Whether it be a reaction to a bad situation/news, or a good thing that has happened to you, you may find that you react a lot stronger because you feel stronger than others. Experts have suggested that most people can have a reaction to something, such as an accident, however, highly sensitive people would have more of a long-lasting and dramatic reaction.
